SCRIP

The Scrip Program is designed to raise funds for the school by paying for goods and services with prepaid cards.  Depending on the type of card that you purchase (ie. JC Penny or Home Depot) a varying percentage of the money you spend will go to the school.  You may choose to have your purchases aid a family of your choice or you may choose to aid the school in general.  Many parents participate in this program, as these are places that they already shop and money can be earned for the school.  Please take a look at the following forms for more information.

Fundraising Committee

The fundraising committee provides several opportunities for you to advertise your business.  You may purchase a 1/4 page ad or an on-line ad to be printed in our home game roster flier.  Also available to purchase is a corporate advertising banner to be displayed in our gymnasium.  If you are interested in any of these advertising opportunities and would like more information, please contact Katrina Schrock kschrock@localnet.com

PTO - Parent Teacher Organization

The Parent-Teacher Organization is a group formed each year which consists of parents, teacher representatives, and the administrator.  Its goal is to support teachers and better equip them to meet the needs of the students by raising funds for resources and improvements.  Fundraisers in the past have included spaghetti and haystack suppers held in the Fall and Spring.  Patrons participate by donating food and serving during these fundraisers.

Also, the school provides "PTO" meetings throughout the year.  These meetings are held in the school gymnasium and include the "State of the School" address given by the administrator as well as financial and other updates by the PTO. Often meetings may include extra announcements or discussion regarding events that are current.  This is an excellent time to get in-tune with what is happening during the school year and to feel a better sense of connection with other parents and staff.  Meetings are scheduled once per semester.  Upcoming meetings are scheduled for the evenings of Thursday, Sep. 10 and Thursday, April 22.  See you there!

If you are interested in knowing more about the PTO or would like to get inolved, please contact Kenny & Anita Martin at kamar@bnin.net

Moms-in-Touch

Moms-in-Touch is another program designed to benefit CCS through prayer and other forms of encouragement.  Although this group focuses on the entire school body, teachers especially appreciate  the support of this group not only through prayer, but also through acts of kindness (ie. food in the teacher's lounge) and notes of encouragement throughout the year.

If you are interested in being a part of this group, please contact Sheryl Horst at shorst@ccsgoshen.org

Spring Festival & Auction

The festival committee is led by several groups of parents with many sub-committees, each with a designated leader.  Our festival committee is developing many new ideas and the opportunities to serve may vary from year to year.  For the 2009 Festival, parents were asked to donate a craft item, given the option of joining a quilt group or provide money to help purchase items for the auction, solicit donations from businesses, contribute toward a classroom auction basket, and help work at the auction.  The Festival and Auction event is a very worthwhile investment of time.  The Festival provides a large amount of financial support for the school and helps tremendously with overall expenses of the school.

If you would like more information about the Spring Festival and Auction, please contact Wil Shetler at wshetler@maplenet.net.

Volunteers

There are numerous ways for parents to get involved with CCS through volunteering.  Opportunities include serving as elementary "class moms", field trip chaperones, assisting with class parties, working as a teacher's aide, and helping with various fundraising efforts. You may contact the school office at clinton@ccsgoshen.org  for more information.
