To
graduate from CCS, a student shall have completed 42 credits of high school
work. The 42 credits shall consist of 29
credits of required work with the remainder consisting of electives. The required work is as follows:

Students considering further education
beyond high school should also consider the guidelines of Indiana’s Core 40
program. In addition to the requirements
at CCS, students are encouraged to take at least two additional math
credits, two additional laboratory science credits, and two
additional foreign language classes as electives. See the guidance director for more
information.
Academic
Honors Diploma requires 8 credits of English/Language Arts, with credits in
Literature, Composition, and Speech, 8 credits of Mathematics that include
Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and at least one upper level course, 6 credits
of Social Studies including U.S. History, U.S. Government, and others with
emphasis on economics, geography or world history, and 6 credits of Science,
with 2 credits in Biology, 2 credits in Chemistry, Physics, or Integrated
Chemistry-Physics, and 2 additional credits from Biology, Chemistry, Physics,
Earth Space Science, or an equally challenging program. This subtotals 28 credits. You also need 6-8 credits of foreign
languages, 2 credits Arts, 9 credits electives, 1 credit Physical Education and
1 credit Health/Safety. Courses in
computers and a career area are also encouraged. To earn the AHD, a student must have a grade
point average of “B” or above.
PSAT/NMSQT, PLAN, SAT, ACT Test Dates
These pre-college and college entrance
test dates are posted annually on the college information bulletin board. Students interested in taking these tests
should go to the guidance office for registration and study bulletins.
